Governor Jiang Daming Meets German Ambassador

On June 26, Governor Jiang Daming met Dr. Michael Schaefer, the German ambassador to China.
Afer a welcome briefing to Dr. Michael Schaefer for his visit, Mr. Jiang Daming said Shandong was an important province located in the eastern coastal areas of China, enjoying a long history, splendid culture and abundant products. Shandong ranks in the top places in terms of both industry and agriculture development in the whole nation and keeps sound development trends in both economy and society. Upholding the Outlook of Scientific Development, Shandong is currently making great efforts in energy-conservation, emission-reduction and environmental protection and developing recycling economy and service sectors in a bid to make a shift from a big economic provicne to a strong economic province. With a long history of friendship, Shandong and Germany have achieved satisfactory cooperation results in a variety of areas such as business, technology, education and culture with the continuing mutual visits from both sides in recent years. Germany has very good reputation in the world for its equipment manufacturing, hi-tech and service sectors, while Shandong has rich natural resources, high-quality human resources and favourable investment envrionment, thus both sides enjoy a great potential for bilateral cooperation. Mr. Jiang expects strenthened cooperation of both sides in equipment manufacturing, energy-conservation & reusable energy techonologies, environmental protection and water resources utilization, and modern services so as to achieve a win-win and mutual beneficial situation.
Dr. Michael Schaefer expressed his thanks to Shandong side for its hospitality and made a brief introduction on the development of equipment manufacturing, new energy exploration and environmental protection in Germany. He said he was eager to make contributions to the promotion of cooperation between Germany and Shandong in various areas.
