Jiang Yaoping and Cai Limin meet Gary Shapiro respectively

On July 9th, Jiang Yaoping, Deputy Minister of Commerce, and Cai Limin, Vice Governor of Shandong Province, met Mr. Gary Shapiro, president of CEA, respectively in Qingdao.
During the meeting, Jiang Yaoping extended welcome to Mr. Shapiro for his attendance to SINOCES 2008 on behalf of the Ministry of Commerce. He said, the cooperation between SINOCES and US CES had been upgraded comprehensively within this year. Collaborated with US CES, the largest consumer electronics expo in the world, SINOCES not only established a platform for exchanges and cooperation in consumer electronics from both abroad and domestics to present new technologies and products, but also helped to promote the long-term development of China’s electronic information industry. Jiang expected more world-famous consumer electronics manufacturers, purchaser and insiders could get acquainted with and attend SINOCES in the future through the introduction by CEA.
Vice Governor Cai Limin told Mr. Gary Shapiro that Shandong attached great importance to the economic exchanges and cooperation with USA. With sound developing bases for consumer electronics, Shandong has its own unique advantages and boasts many world famous brand names. Attending a high level expo in Qingdao, the famous home appliance manufacturing city in China, Chinese home appliance companies could have opportunities to feel and learn the up-to-state technologies, concepts and development trends of international consumer electronics industry.
Mr. Gary Shapiro said he was very happy to attend SINOCES 2008 and promised the continued CEA’s full support to SINOCES to further improve the quality and size of the event.
Mr. Lu Zaimo, Director-General of Department of Foreign Trade & Economic Cooperation of Shandong Province, attended those meetings together with leaders from other provincial departments and Qingdao City.
