Natural Resources

coal : Jining is one of the eight coal bases in China, with an exploited coal reserve of 26 billion, accounting for more than 50% of the total reserve in Shandong province.
Electricity: The power generating capacity is 6.8million kilowatt, taking 20% of the total in Shandong province, and is expected to exceed 10 million kilowatt in the year 2008.
Water: Fresh water reserve is 6 bilion cubic meters, taking 1/6 of the total in Shandong province. Weishan Lake, the largest fresh water lake in North China, has a water reserve of more than 2 billion cubic meters.
Rare Earth: Expolited reserve is 13 million tons, taking the second place in China.
Lime Stone: Total reserve is 6 billion cubic meters.

Tourist Resource

Jining is a fascinating destination for tourism with one of China’s richest clutural and natural tourist resources. To name a few, the Confucius Mansion, Temple and Mausoleum, which is a World Cultural Heritage site, attract numerous visitors from home and abroad every year. The Grand Cannal that runs through the city ranks the world’s longest and earliest man-made water project. Jining has a benign climate with four distinct seasons and an enormous water reserve, well suitable for the development of biological technology. Agriculture
