








Weihai is reputed as the most livable city and has been awarded as the first National Sanitary City in China and among the first group of National Model City for Environmental Protection. It is also the city most suitable for starting businesses, for it is also on the honor scroll of top 40 cities with fine investment hardware environment and top 50 cities in aggregate economic strength. It won UN Habitat Prize in 2003.
Weihai has under its jurisdiction three county-level cities – Rongcheng, Wendeng and Rushan, Huancui District, Economic and Technological Development Zone and High and New Tech Development Zone. A total of 2.498 million people live in the land of 5698 square kilometers.
